Dan Lyons: SubSuburbia (Futureproof FLP 1 V, LP, 2020)

This is a vivid take on modern Britain (or, indeed, the imagined world or SubSuburbia), in the company of former Fat White Family drummer, Dan Lyons. Produced by Florence + The Machine’s Chris Hayden, Lyons’ debut album mixes catchy folk rhythms with timeless psych-pop and spoken-word interludes throughout. It’s an enduring record, full of wonderful detail and intriguing lyrical hooks. There’s a limited run of green vinyl available to accompany the release.
