Chris has now joined Futureproof to look after the “urban” side of things. With his extensive knowledge of the urban scene and his years of breaking Urban records in the UK, he has decided to come out of the plugging retirement home and bring his skills to use at Futureproof.
Chris’s career has spanned over a period of 15 years and includes working for every major record label and running one of the most successful UK urban marketing and promotions companies in recent years (Direct Demand). Now rightfully considered one of the “key” urban promotion figures in the UK. He has been behind the breaking of many urban artists in the UK, most notably AKON. After working in A&R and music development Chris joined Phil at Futureproof where their combined experiences have created an all round music consultancy service for developing and breaking UK talent.
Previous positions Chris has held include Head Of Urban Music for Island Records between 2000 – 2003 where he worked in the A&R and promotions departments as the label’s key point man for all urban music and also music consultant for Universal/Motown in New York (but based in London) between 2003 and 2006.
