Buswells music is a mix of contemporary alternative, folk and classical styles. The result is a truly unique sound, or in the words of the band, a heady mix of provocative and intense pieces with introspective lullabies.
Growing up in Wiltshire, guitar player & vocalist Shaun Buswells initial plan was to perform as a solo artist, but before long it had evolved into a five-piece band consisting of Shaun himself, Rachael (Viola/Violin), Becky (Piano/Vocals), Matt (Bass) and Jim (Drums/Banjo). Over time their free-spirited approach to a unique compositional style has resulted in the current single Let Me Love (inc video), and their debut album Buy Me New Shoes to be released later this year.
On the single viola and violin are deployed as lead instruments set against a rhythm guitar and piano. This classic folk instrumentation and flowing rhythm section provides the backdrop for both male and female vocals, which creates a truly organic sound.
The single picked up initial support from BBC Radio Wiltshire for whom they performed a live acoustic session winning over scores of followers eager to hear more from this Swindon outfit.
